PHYSICAL CONDITION REQUIREMENT
Discovery Mountain Trek can offer advice and recommendations about health requirements but it is the individual responsibility of each trekker to acquire any necessary documents and medical care. The information on the technical sheet provided is indicative, it is your responsibility to check with the authorities concerned for the exact requirements for your chosen destination at the time of travel. If you do not obtain any necessary medical consultations or travel documents and are not allowed to enter a country, or suffer personal injury or death as a result, we have no liability to you for any cost, loss or damage which you suffer nor will we refund you the cost of any unused portion of your travel arrangements. It is your responsibility to comply with the regulations and procedures of police, customs and health at all times throughout your trip.

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL
The best time to trek to the Everest Base Camp Trek is in spring (February to May) and autumn (September to November). The temperature is moderate in these seasons and guarantees amazing views through the trip. Although this trek can be undertaken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.

GUIDE & STAFF ARRANGEMENT
The most significant thing that makes this trek enjoyable and memorable is the skilled, experienced and helpful Guide and crew member who have the ability of guiding our trek on the mountain smoothly. Our trip will be led by the best and most professional Guide. All of Discovery Mountain Trekking Guide’s  are carefully selected on the basis of their appropriate experience, skills and personal aptitude. With an objective of sustaining local communities, Discovery Mountain only employs local Staff, who have knowledge about culture, ecosystem, flora, fauna, geography, and history of their local region.

PORTER CARE
We are firmly committed to porter rights. We make sure that all our porters are well treated, well paid and we provide the level of shelter, clothing and footwear that these harsh environments demand. Porters who become sick are treated with the same care and attention as other team members and we have previously used helicopters – at our expense – to rescue porters from dangerous situations. We support the work of the International Porter Protection Group (IPPG), making our resources available to them to help improve the working conditions of the porters. International Porters Progress Group.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS
The Everest Region is stunningly beautiful, but equally fragile. Future generations have just as much of a right to appreciate it as much as we do.  Therefore, we believe that the tourism industry has an obligation to protect and preserve it. Discovery Mountain employs a ‘zero impact’ policy on the natural environment and the traditional communities that live there. Discovery Mountain, therefore, enforces a number of do’s and don’ts. Please talk to your trek leader to avoid environmental impacts.

 TRAVEL INSURANCE
It is a condition upon joining any of Discovery Mountain’s  trips that all clients be insured for comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and treatment costs). Please note that we don’t arrange or sell insurance.

ACCLIMATIZATION
This trek’s itinerary is planned with a high degree of awareness of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Going up at higher altitudes too fast causes a medical condition serious enough to result in death. The higher the altitude, the less oxygen will be in the air. For example, at an altitude above of 5000m, there is 50% less oxygen than at sea level. Therefore, our body needs many days to adapt to an environment with less oxygen. During this trip, we take rest in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche which will help us acclimatize to the high altitude.

First climbed in 1955, Pharchamo Peak is an attractive snow peak lying south of Tashi Lapcha. It has a north-by-northwest ridge, which rises from the crevassed glacier astride the Tashi Lapcha. The face of the ridge forms a uniform slope broken by crevasse and seraes rising from the rocky lower buttresses above the Drolambau Glaciers in the west. Rolwaling valley is the main access to Pharchamo, though this route was closed for most of the 1980s due to potential dangers to porters crossing the Tashi Lapcha. The other alternative route is from the Khumbu side via Namche Bazar and Thame.

The highlights of this trip include driving to Jagat, Na village visit the beautiful lake called (Tsho Rolpa) and climbing Pachermo Peak 6272m then decent to Thame and Namche bazaar, then flying back from Lukla to  Kathmandu, staying in the villages of the Sherpa, and seeing the culture of a people that is unlike any other in the world. The trail is lined with pristine villages, monasteries, and a plethora of flora & fauna in the lower regions. As you trek to higher altitudes, you will see the thinning vegetation and more of the white peaks.

Seeing the scenic valleys of Rolwaling and Everest is a unique opportunity. In this program from Discovery Mountain Trek, This is your chance to trek the high valleys of the Sherpa in the heart of the mountains. You will need a very good level of stamina to complete this program.

In under three weeks, you will trek in the vicinity of the world’s highest peaks and also climb Pachermo Peak, the highest trekking-peak of Nepal. At 6272 meters, the trek to the summit is a moderate-to-strenuous activity that requires stamina and will. The best time to scale this peak is late winter to mid spring and from late summer to mid autumn. Discovery Mountain Trek recommends this trek for those who wish to climb a peak in Nepal – for gaining an experience of a classic trekking in Nepal.

Itinerary

DAY 1 : ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU (1365M)

After landing at the Kathmandu airport, Discovery Mountain Trek will take you to your hotel. We then check-in at the hotel, freshen up and take a rest. In the evening you will have details briefing for your trek.

DAY 2 : KATHMANDU – JAGAT (1400M) 6/7H DRIVE

After breakfast, take the road to Lhasa passing through the Bhote Koshi valley. After a trip among the rice fields and sherpa villages, you cross Charikot then arrive at Dolakha (1660 m). Your route goes up the valley, the track becomes more difficult but the end of the journey approaches. In the distance, you can see small villages of the Magar, Newar, Chetri and Brahman communities. After this long day’s drive you arrive at the small village of Jagat.

DAY 3 : JAGAT – SIMGAON (2100M) 4/5H TREK

Today we walk short step. For a while, your path follows the river. You oblique to the east, leaving the main route to Tibet. The trail climb steeper before reaching terraced fields: mani walls and chortens announce that coming of the village, we cross the Tama Kosi river and continue our trek to Simgaon and our camp established near a gompa (monastery). You get a wonderful view of the second highest peak of the Rolwaling Himal, the Gaurishanker.

DAY 4 :SIMIGAON - DOVAN (2700M) 6/7H TREK

We walk along the mountainside, through thick forests of rhododendrons and magnolias, and fields used as pasture in summer. Your trek continues at altitude before descending the river and the bottom of the valley. You set up your camp in Dovan, a small clearing in a dense forest.

DAY 5 :DOVAN – BEDING (3690M) 5/6H TREK

You cross the Rolwaling khola to hike through the northern jungles. The trail climbs gradually to a clearing, crossing the villages of Nyimare and Ramding and farm fields to reach Beding (3690 m), main and last village of the region. Visit this Sherpa village, located in a narrow gorge with 36 inhabited houses and a small monastery. You will see the Menlugtse (7181 m), the highest peak of the Rolwaling Himal.

DAY 6 :BEDING – NA (4180M) 4/5H TREK

Short stage to reach this small hamlet of alpage, used during the beautiful season. The climb is rough but the view of the surrounding mountains and the snow-capped peaks is exceptional. At the bottom are the very steep and immaculate faces of Chobutse (6689m) and Chugimago (6259). Further north, the granite walls forming the border ridge with Tibet invite you to climb.

DAY 7 :NA (DAY ACCLIMATIZE

Acclimatization and local exploration day. Here, no village but some mud huts used in the summer by the cowherds. You can explore the surrounding nature, and enjoy the beautiful panorama offered here.

DAY 8 :NA – TSO-ROLPA (4530M) - KABUK (4560) 6/7H TREK

You cross the river to reach the south bank and then follow the stream to the crossing point near Yersa, the last village of shepherds. After a wooden bridge, you go back to the front moraine just behind the Tsho Rolpa lake dam. You set up your camp at Kabuk, behind the huge moraine of the lake. This location offers splendid views of the surrounding peaks including Tsoboje (6689m) and Dragker-Go (6795m).

DAY 9 :KABUK – KOISY KNOB CAMP (4960) 5/6H TREK

The path you take today dominates Lake Tsho Rolpa. You are gradually entering a mineral universe where the scree and scree are becoming more numerous and the use of hands sometimes useful to balance. The impressive west face of the Pachermo and its 1000 meters of walls are now standing in front of you. You join the foot of this colossus and set up camp for the night. The last light of the day offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, most of which are over 6000m high.

DAY 10 :KOISY KNOB CAMP – TASHI-LAPCHA BASE CAMP (5500) 6/7H TREK

You begin to reach the Drolambau Glacier, surrounded by unexplored peaks, nestled in the most remote areas of the Himalayas. The crossing of the front of the Drolambau glacier is delicate. The frontal tongue which evolves each year can pose some problems, in particular to the carriers: passage in ice of about fifteen meters to 55 ° sometimes requiring the laying of a fixed rope. The trek then becomes easy towards the pass. At Tashi Lapsa, the spectacle that surrounds you is beautiful: the Tengi Rau (6943m), the Dragkar-Go (6793m) and many other peaks to the Tibetan border form a superb backdrop. Establishment of your base camp under the pass at 5500m.

DAY 11 : BASE CAMP - SUMMIT (6272M) – NGOLE (5110M) 9/10H TREK

Very early departure again towards Tashi Lapsa where the climb really begins. First on snowy slopes, which does not involve any particular technical difficulty, you reach the final ridge more technical and requiring the laying of a fixed rope over 200 m (slopes at 40 ° with 2 short projections at 50 ° ). Once at the top, you dominate the Khumbu, from Cho Oyu to Everest and from Lhotse to Makalu that stretch before your eyes. Back to the Tashi Lapsha pass, you start your descent. After an easy start, you enter a huge scree. Ultimate difficult passage: a small rocky slab that requires the installation of a handrail. Further down, the chörtens and walls of Mani mark the return to civilization and Ngole where you camp. Note : If you don’t want to climb, you go directly to Ngole where you find the group.

DAY 12 :NGOLE – THAME (3800M) 5/6H TREK

You walk east, down the snowy slopes from the upper Thame Khola to Thengpo, a small village of shepherds surrounded by vast pastures. From here you can admire the Ama Dablam, Makalu and Lumding Himal Mountains. After 2 hours of descent, you reach Thame, dominated by a small monastery.

DAY 13 :THAME – NAMCHE (3440M) 4/5H TREK

You hike to Namche Bazaar, capital of Sherpas. The path descends to cross the Bothe Koshi River by a suspension bridge. After a short climb, you take the descent to cross many villages, mani and walls of prayer. Your path also crosses a pine forest and, at the top of the ridge, disperses to several directions. From here you can see Namche Bazaar and its multicolored roofs where you spend the night. Namche is the main trading center of Khumbu: every Saturday, traders from other villages in the valley go up there to exchange their products on the Namche.

DAY 14 :NAMCHE BAZAAR – LUKLA (2840M) 6/7H TREK

The trail descends steeply downward so we need to walk cautiously as our shaky legs continuously battle the rocky terrain. After crossing the suspension bridges over the fast flowing Dudh Koshi and its tributaries, the trail becomes more level and natural. After our arrival in Lukla, we stretch those sore legs and recall the experiences of the last couple of weeks.

DAY 15 :FLY BACK TO KATHMANDU

We catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu after our long mountain journey. After reaching in Kathmandu transfer to hotel and Afternoon we start our visit to two of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the largest stupas in the world. Rolwaling, Tashi Lapcha and Pachermo peak Trek is a beautiful journey that combines the glory of both Rolwaling valley and Khumbu region of Nepal. This exciting and challenging trek takes you to a remote location and lets you experience the beautiful views of Himalayas with the challenge of crossing high mountain pass. The wilderness that lies in the quaint mountains and remote trail is something that you will enjoy as you walk along the way to Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Pass.

The untouched and unexplored valleys of Rolwaling that lies beneath the Gaurishankar range is mystical. The classic combination of mountain views with alluring scenery, charming villages and tranquil mountain passes makes this place lively despite of its isolation. The panoramic views of mountains like Mt. Gauri Shankar, Dorje Lakpa, Mount Everest, Tso Rolpa Lake, etc. that this trek offers is splendid. The breath-taking beauty that lies in the waterfalls, glaciers and ancient monasteries adds to the splendour of this region.
